Logistics Supervisor  

This job primarily responsible for the logistic functions of offshore and inland shipments of finished products and materials including planning, coordinating, controlling and maintenance to attain effective cost efficient operation and ensure continuous improvement in the delivery of customer service.

Major Responsibilities:

• Monitors the status and situation of all deliveries i.e., pick-up schedule in Calamba; shipping schedule- vessel, voyage No., ETD Manila, ETA destination, Bill of Lading No.fax all copies of Transshipment Order and Advice (TOA) to all areas and all copies of bill of Lading to direct shipments and door-to-pier deliveries. Require acknowledgement receipts of materials from the receipts thru the Coil Inspection Reports (CIR).
• Coordinates and works closely with rollforming plants and warehouse nationwide as to the requirement of materials and finished goods transfer, shipments and deliveries from Calamba plant to different destinations in the VisMin, Luzon I and Luzon II area.
• Ensures/ascertains prompt scheduling and dispatch shipments and deliveries of materials and finished products thru accredited forwarders and shipping companies and haulers. Supervises loading operation at the Pier and see to it that all amterials and finished goods are loaded on the scheduled vessel and prevent shut-out.
• Recommends accreditation of forwarders or direct shipping companies and haulers that will ship or deliver materials and finished products to the Vismin Luzon I and Luzon II marketing units or direct customers. Accrediation will be subject to the compliance by the forwarder/shipping companies of the documentation requirements. Cover agreement with the forwarder or shipping company with “Contract of Forwarding Services” and “Contract of Hauling Services” duly notarized and renewed annually.
• Conduct regular meetings with the checkers assigned by the forwarders at the pier and drivers and helpers of accredited haulers on the proper handling of materials and finished products.
• Coordinates with the maintenance group on the proper upkeep of company trucks and handling equipment; gantry crane, forklifts and Oh crane. Reports any abnormalities and breakdown of vehicles and equipment.
• Coordinates with other RFDO’s on the status and conditions of stock transfer and finished good shipments. Make detailed reports of shipments to VisMin areas and deliveries to Luzon 1 and Luzon 2 summary on a weekly/monthly frequency.
• Makes presentations on the performances of Logistics under his responsibility duringmonthly meetings and customer service meetings.
• Conducts plant and warehouse visits to assess quality systems and do safety observations
• Supports and demonstrates ownership of health and safety in his/her own area of responsibility
• Performs other duties that may be required by the immediate supervisor from time to time

• Graduate of any Engineering discipline, Business Management or Marketing -
• Preferably with at least two (2) years work experience in a supervisory capacity in a steel company
• Good communication and presentation skills;
• Excellent problem-solving skills;
