Overview
To provide advanced to expert support for a Microsoft Windows Server based infrastructure within one of transcosmos’s Infrastructure support teams and support a global server farm. The team members will be expected to join project teams for optimization of the infrastructure and operations i.e. deployment and usage of new tool and process introduction, as well as software tool upgrades.
Summary
- Perform advanced to expert troubleshooting of the following:
- Microsoft Windows Server operating system related issues.
- Microsoft Exchange\Lync\Blackberry related issues.
- VMWare VSphere infrastructure related issues.
- Provide feedback and help in the testing of new technical design ensuring the design is maintainable and extendable.
- Resolve all issues at HW and OS level, classify, and escalate other issues to other senior team members on-site or refer to on-call.
- Keep incident management SOPs, WIs, and other documentation up-to-date/
- Be the Llst line of defense before vendor escalations.
- Update incident tickets.
- Participate and/or lead projects on server support activities (i.e. tools deployment, tools upgrades).
- Join team meetings.
Reporting responsibilities
Reports to: Line Manager
Other relationships: Daily service management from their Team Leader
Service relationship to Service Delivery Manager
Minimum Qualifications
- Minimum 3-5 years of experience in:
- Windows Server 2003/2008/2012 administration.
- VMWare ESX 5 and/or VSphere 5 administration.
- Exchange/OCS/Lync/Blackberry administration.
- Preferably with experience in the following:
- Remote management
- LINUX and UNIX
- HP ProLiant hardware
- Dell hardware
- CA Service Desk Manager
- IT industry certifications is an advantage.
- MCSA, MCSE, MCITP, VCP, etc.
- PowerShell scripting skills.
- Awareness of Citrix technologies.
- Excellent understanding of TCP/IP based networks.
- Fluent English language skills.
- Excellent interpersonal, teamwork, and leadership skills.
- Strong communication skills.
- Good IT problem solving skills.
- Able to multitask and change according to demand.
- Customer oriented and I.T. focused.
- Ambitious.
- Ability to work within a large team.

- Presentation Server 4.0 and/or 4.5
- XenApp 5 and 6
- McAfee Antivirus
- SiteScope monitoring (Netware)
- Opsware Server Automation
- GPO Creation and Troubleshooting DNS/DHCP
- MS Exchange (2010)
- Blackberry
- Backup Technologies – Symantec Backup exec &TSM
- Patch Management
- Web servers
- NAS:
- SAN
- EMC
- NetApp
- Dell Equalogic
- MS SQL Server (2005, 2008, & 2012)
- Microsoft Lync
- EMC SourceOne
- ITIL v2/v3, PMBOK and Six-Sigma Methodology used
- Willingness to work early and late shifts from Monday to Friday including bank holidays, and also provide on-call standby service on the weekend.
