Job Description

Scope of work covers all architectural and graphic design requirements of National Book Store and its allied brands and othe related work requests. To lend computer-aided drawing support and other medium of presentation to the Design and Construction Manager in the conduct of providing in-house project management and design consultancy services; to act as brand custodian in terms of look for National Book Store; to implement efficient space programming; to ensure project implementation in a timely and cost efficient way.

SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Prepares design drawings and specifications and coordinates the project implementation.
  2. Coordinates and ensures the accurate implementation of projects.
  3. Provides additional shop drawings as needed.
  4. Attends to inter-departmental and site meetings to ensure alignment of design requirements and accuracy of layout.
  5. Creates, develops and proposes new design assets and standards for brand improvement.
  6. Initiates and coordinates approval and implementation of new design assets and standards.
  7. Monitors punchlists, backjobs, and other measures of quality of service.
  8. Conducts pre-construction , construction and punchlisting visits.
  9. Conducts post-occupancy design evaluation.
  10. Sources for new materials and attends to seminars and market exposure trips to further enhance the design output.
  11. Performs other related tasks as may be assigned from time to time.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must possess a College degree in Architecture or Fine Arts( Industrial Design, Advertising Arts, etc.) Professional License is not a requirement.
  • At least one (1) year of progressive and full time experience in design and project supervision. Experience in estimating is an advantage.
  • Average oral and written communication skills.
  • Adept in AutoCAD and SketchSup. Knowledge in MS Office applications such as Word, Excel and Powerpoint. Knowledge in Adobe Photoshop, 3D Max or Revit and other presentation programs is an advantage.
  • Good analytical skills, planning and organization and building technology.
