Job Description
Main Responsibilities
- Ensure that the department’s revenue targets are met
- Negotiate contracts with clients to determine scope of work, compensation, terms of engagement, milestones and deadlines for delivery
- Develop and implement strategies that will help reach target markets and drive sales
- Manage the sales process
- Manage the sales pipeline to ensure timely and accurate forecasting
- Support the executive management team in creating goals and objectives for the department and monitoring progress toward achieving them
- Conduct market research to identify potential clients who are likely to purchase the services offered by the company
- Establish long term relationships with clients in order to develop custom solutions that meet their specific needs
- Manage the team by setting leads and sales goals and providing guidance to ensure that they are meeting revenue targets
- Build relationships with clients and other industry professionals to identify new business opportunities
- Plan and host events (e.g. social gatherings) in order to build goodwill with clients and increase brand awareness
- Develop proposals for new projects based on client needs and company capabilities
- Hire, train and coach the team
- Perform other related duties as assigned
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business Administration, Economics, Marketing or its equivalent
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in business development or a similar role
- Experience with CRM software
- Proficiency in MS Office and other sales application programs
- Experience in FMCG, alcohol/tobacco, egaming, and/or telecommunications industry is a plus
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills
- Excellent interpersonal skills
- Ability to build strong relationships with clients
- Recognized ability to manage multiple projects and priorities with attention to detail and reliable follow-through
- Commercial awareness with the ability to understand the target audience; Understands the different language styles that appeal to various target markets
