Job Description
The Assistant Vice President for the Group Human Resources is responsible for providing strategic and operational oversight over the following pillars in the Aboitiz Group HR: Employer Branding, Learning and Development, and Performance Management & Engagement. The successful candidate will ensure that these pillars deliver effective programs that support the current and future needs of the Aboitiz Group.
Key Responsibilities Include:
Strategic Direction
- Participates in shaping the strategic direction over initiatives in areas of Employer Branding, Learning and Development, and Performance Management & Employee Engagement. Ensures that initiatives are aligned with the strategic vision of the Group.
- Provides inputs on the short-term and long-term strategy roadmap for encompassed programs and initiatives, monitors progress, and ensures completion
- Benchmarks best practices and provides direction on new programs and initiatives as aligned with the strategic direction of the Group
- Measures performance and effectiveness of programs; identifies relevant people metrics that are used in decision-making and strategic planning
- Provides guidance in the selection of external partners and vendors
Strategic Partnership
- Works with Senior Management and HR Strategi Business Unit (SBU) Partners in conceptualizing and developing applicable strategies for Aboitiz Group Strategic Business Units, and leads planning and alignment of initiatives
- Takes on an advisory role to HR Leaders as a strategic partner and gives recommendations applicable to the needs of their strategic business units in his/her area of responsibility.
- Builds relationships with key external organizations and industry partners.
Operational Oversight
- Develops, reviews, and/or updates governance policies, procedures, and tools to ensure effectiveness and efficiency in quality of execution; and ensure alignment across the group
- Provides oversight on team’s metrics, programs and frameworks. Ensures key initiatives are being effectively implemented, particularly on the following:
- Employer Branding - Designing, developing and implementing talent attraction programs, such as Employer Brand social media marketing campaigns, Aboitiz Talent Community Management, and Brand Ambassador Program; and establishing partnerships with key external organizations
- Learning & Development - Designing, developing and implementing relevant, quality and timely learning and development solutions focused on enhancing foundational, digital, leadership, and business complementary skills
- Performance Management & Engagement - Designing, developing, and implementing Performance Management & Engagement programs and initiatives particularly on performance management framework, employee engagement surveys, recognition programs, and values and culture programs
Other responsibilities
- Oversees budget optimization and ensures efficient use of team’s resources
- Manages performance, development, and engagement of team members and ensures functional competence of the team.
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of Psychology, Human Resources, Behavioral Science, or other related Business Courses
- Human Resources Certification, Talent Management or Organization Development or its equivalent, an advantage
- Master’s Degree in Applied/Industrial Psychology or Business, an advantage
- With at least 10 years of extensive HR experience, preferably strategic roles on different facets of HR such as Talent Attraction, Talent Management, Organization Development, Learning & Development, Performance Management, Culture and Employee Engagement
- With at least 7 years’ experience in a managerial role with executive potential
- With experience in Stakeholder Management particularly in interacting with Senior Management Team and internal stakeholders; Strong influencing skills an advantage
