Senior Python Developer | Hybrid  

Area of Responsibility:

• Responsible for the design and development of Python based applications.
• Responsible for coding, unit testing and creating supporting documentation for Python based development.
• Develop and enhance data integration procedures to create data load structures with PostgreSQL databases
• Provides support and expertise on development technologies and environments
• Tests modifications for validity of results, accuracy, reliability, and conformance to established standards
• Participates in system and acceptance testing
• Provides work estimates that permit prioritization and assignments to be made
• Has awareness of the prescribed methodologies and standards. Understands how the development and related testing activities fit into the overall application lifecycle management

Typical Activities

• Lead development efforts across coding, integration and data processing streams
• Enhancements of solutions to meet the needs of the customers based on the product owner’ use cases
• Document code in accordance to documentation standards and best practices
• Functional and unit testing
• Clear pending issues
• Review/validate high-level estimates given within the Solution Backlog
• Attend the Sprint & SCRUM Meetings

Background

• Degree in Information Technology, Computer Science or related field
• At least 5 to 7 years development extensive experience with coding in Python language
• Industry-specific certification in relevant computer languages or software is preferred
• Can converse in Business English (oral and written)
• Experience in REST / Web API webservice Development
• Optional but preferred:
  • Knowledgeable in web scraping with Python (Scrapy)
  • Experience in working with relational and document oriented database systems (SQL, Postgres)
  • Knowledge on Apache airflow workflow management platform
  • Experience in data science applications (e.g. pandas, scikit-learn, tensorflow)
  • Working experience with Microsoft Azure based solutions
