The Lead Accountant or Accounting Manager plays a crucial role in optimizing financial processes for the organization. Responsible for analyzing and improving existing accounting procedures, this role involves collaboration with cross-functional teams, innovative problem-solving, and ensuring compliance with accounting standards and regulations in the Philippines. The role reports to the Group Finance Manager.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead a team of accounting associates and oversee their day-to-day work and output
- Ensure timely monthly, quarter and annual closing of financial books for both Remedy and Healthspan.
- Oversee the company's tax function, ensuring compliance with local and national government regulations
- Assess and optimize current accounting processes, identifying inefficiencies and implementing streamlined workflows to ensure accounting work is done accurately and on-time
- Lead the development and implementation of improved accounting procedures, ensuring enhanced efficiency and accuracy within the finance department.
- Develop budget templates, implement budgetary controls, and provide regular insights to support effective cost management.
- Prepare detailed reports and presentations outlining key findings and recommendations to facilitate informed decision-making.
- Ensure strict adherence to relevant accounting standards, regulations, and company policies, including performing operational audits as needed.
- Evaluate and implement advanced accounting software and tools to elevate efficiency and ensure precise data management.
- Provide comprehensive training and support to team members for successful integration of new technologies.
- Maintain thorough process documentation, including standard operating procedures (SOPs) and process flowcharts.
- Generate regular and ad-hoc reports to update stakeholders on progress in process improvement initiatives.
- Proactively identify opportunities for process optimization in budgeting and tax management, initiating relevant projects for continuous improvement.
Kualifikasi Minimum
Minimum Qualifications:
- Preferred BS Accountancy graduate (with CPA is a plus!)
- At least 2 years of experience with day-to-day accounting operations including payroll, BIR, reporting and financial reporting
- Prior experience preparing and filing all mandated government filings including BIR, SSS, PhilHealth and Pag-IBIG
- Prior experience with Quickbooks is highly desired
- Detail-oriented, especially when concerned with numbers.
- Strong analytical and planning skills
- Willingness to learn and take on new challenges.
- Ability to work effectively in a team-oriented environment.
- Strong communication skills to liaise with various stakeholders.
