IT Apprentice  

The IT Apprentice works as a general assistant to his/her senior/s from the Project Management and Service Deliver Office (the business analyst, QA specialist, technical support specialist, IT trainer, and project manager). Depending on assignment, the range of works may include but will not be limited to:

• preparing and/or editing technical (software specifications) and end-user documentation (instruction manuals);
• developing models, tables, charts and diagrams;
• editing images;
• troubleshooting company-issued hardware, and the company LAN and WiFi;
• logging technical issues; and
• minor application development programming/coding, and cloud platform configuration.

• Belongs to the graduating class of their IT, Computer Science, Computer Engineering or Business (major in a computer discipline) program with endorsement by their college dean or program chairperson;
• Has finished his/her culminating thesis, Capstone project or feasibility study upon application;
• Formidable knowledge retention, communication, technical writing, data- and process-modeling, and presenting skills;
• Strong interest in building their future careers through contribution of individual capabilities, talents and skills beyond those taught in classrooms;
• Willing learner ("learns like a sponge");
• Takes to mentoring very well, and goes beyond meeting college requirements (if this is Star Wars lore, the IT apprentice is like "a padawan to a Jedi knight");
