Buyer  

This position is responsible for researching potential vendors, negotiating contract terms of agreement and pricing, comparing and evaluating offers from suppliers , creating and maintaining good relationship with key suppliers, and ensuring delivery of goods and services, tracking orders, and ensuring timely delivery of goods and services.

Duties and Responsibilities

• Handles day-to-day purchasing of goods and services according to well-established policies and procedures.
• Encodes and maintains order details (e.g., vendors, quantities, prices) into the Company’s vendor database system (SAP).
• Ensures that all status reports on bid inquiries and purchase orders are submitted promptly and completed accurately.
• Orders goods and services and ensures standards are met.
• Negotiates contracts and prepares reports.
• Purchases items as directed and inspects delivered goods and services.
• Reviews quality of purchased products.
• Follows up with vendors to ensure meeting the required delivery dates.
• Maintains updated records of purchased goods and services, delivery information, and invoices.
• Coordinates with warehouse personnel to ensure proper storage of purchased items.
• Attends trade shows and exhibitions to stay up-to-date with industry trends.

• Education - Bachelor's Degree in Business Administration, Logistics Management or related field
• Technical/Special Skills - Good knowledge of vendor sourcing practices (researching, evaluating, and liaising with vendors; Hands on experiece with purchasing software; Understanding of supply chain procedures; Solid analytical skills with the ability to create financial reports and conduct cost analysis; Strong negotiation skills.
• She should have great communication skills, both orally and in writing.
• Years of Experience - 4 years of proven work experience as Purchasing Officer, Purchasing Agent or similar role
• Level of Expertise - 3 ( on a scale of 1-5; 5 being the highest)
