Cloud Solutions Architect  

Overview:

The cloud solution architect is responsible for working with key stakeholders (internal & external) to develop cloud strategies and provide advice and guidance on how and where to adopt​ ​cloud​ ​solutions.

Responsibilites:

• Develop cloud native strategies and solutions for client requirements, leveraging platforms and methodologies such as: PaaS/​ ​Agile/​ ​DevOps​ ​etc.
• Contribute​ ​to​ ​developing​ ​repeatable​ ​solution​ ​frameworks/​ ​platforms
• Collaborate with product owners, designers, business analysts in
• developing​ ​horizontal​ ​or​ ​industry​ ​specific​ ​offers.
• Develop cloud native solution architectures for clients - in proactive or​ ​reactive​ ​pre-sales​ ​engagements.
• Provide technical thought leadership for current and future architecture for our hyperscale computing cloud services considering non-functional requirements such as high availability,
• response​ ​time,​ ​scalability​ ​and​ ​provide​ ​solutions​ ​to​ ​satisfy​ ​them.
• Produce diagrams, reference architecture, domain models and other supporting documents that ensure alignment of roadmap strategy.
• Work with DevOps to make sure there are tools in place for monitoring the system, and log management to effectively handle incidents.
• Review​ ​our​ ​data​ ​engineering​ ​models​ ​and​ ​data​ ​ingestion​ ​pipelines
• Drive​ ​technical​ ​designs​ ​to​ ​consensus,​ ​and​ ​then​ ​approval​ ​and​ ​buy​ ​in.
• Work directly with our research teams to build tools for massive data​ ​set​ ​analysis.
• Provide regular high-level communications to the executive staff and​ ​detailed​ ​communications​ ​to​ ​internal​ ​stakeholders.
• Bring a data centric mindset and proactively engage with other
• teams​ ​to​ ​ensure​ ​all​ ​open​ ​issues​ ​are​ ​identified​ ​and​ ​resolved.
• Understand the limitations the current architecture being used in the organization while continuously challenging the current setup and mindset
• Continuously evaluate emerging cloud technologies and strategize on​ ​how​ ​to​ ​apply​ ​to​ ​the​ ​organization’s​ ​needs

• Bachelor's degree in computer science, system analysis or a related study,​ ​or​ ​equivalent​ ​experience
• Minimum of seven (7) years of experience in at least two IT solution development disciplines, including technical architecture, network management, application development, middleware, database management​ ​or​ ​operations
• Exposure to multiple, diverse technologies and processing environments
• Good understanding of strategic and new and emerging technology trends, and the practical application of existing, new and emerging technologies​ ​to​ ​new​ ​and​ ​evolving​ ​business​ ​and​ ​operating​ ​models
• Understanding of agile methods and processes, and capability of supporting agile project teams by providing advice and guidance on opportunities, impact and risks, taking account of technical and architectural​ ​debt
