LINUX Administrator  

• Installing, configuring and maintaining Linux Servers.
• Applying Patches to the servers.
• Ability to prepare and implement OS hardening.
• Configuration and administration of Oracle Clusterware in a Linux cluster.
• Strong in troubleshooting and fine tuning of operating system performance issues.
• Participate in planning and execution of DR Drill.

• Experience with Oracle Linux 7 or RHEL (5/6/7) servers in virtualize environments
• Proficient with network tools such as iptables, Linux IPVS
• Troubleshooting boot issues and performance issues and good understanding about system startup and shutdown.
• Hands on experience on Oracle Linux 7 or Red Hat Enterprise Linux System Administration (5/6/7)
• Experience in Linux OS installation, Software and Patch management
• LUN management & File system management like LVM administration and backup & restore Volume groups
• Package/Patch management, Kick Start
• Experience in a SAN Environment
• Should know how to debug/troubleshoot hardware & patching issues
• Must have knowledge on architectural concept regarding console servers for Linux
• NIS and LDAP work experience
• Familiar with the configuration and maintenance of server and network hardware and peripherals
• Installation, Configuration and Management of Red Hat Linux
• Develop and maintain installation and configuration procedures
• Strong familiarity with SMTP, DNS, DHCP and SSL/TLS
• Perform daily system monitoring, verifying the integrity and availability of all hardware, server resources, systems and key processes, reviewing system and application logs etc.
• Research and recommend innovative, and where possible, automated approaches for system administration tasks. Identify approaches that leverage resources.
• Administration of Linux Based Firewall. It involves providing rule based internet access, port management and network intrusion detection and troubleshooting.
• Understanding to manage clustering/ High Availability (Oracle Clusterware in a Linux cluster & Oracle RAC)
• Working experience OS hardening and securing the servers, Maintenance, gathering data for performance analysis and performance tuning,
• Experience in Scripting and Automation. Good experience in troubleshooting issues Understanding in Incident/change/vendor management, production & on-call support experience is must.
• Good understanding about Data center technologies like virtualization, storage, backup tools and network. Exposure to different server hardware (HP, Dell & IBM), Understanding the backup tools & SAN technologies

• Hands on experience in:
  • Backup Administration
  • Oracle Virtual Machines
  • Monitoring tool like (Oracle Ops Center, Nagios, MONIT etc.)
• Excellent communication skills
