Senior Software Engineer - Front End, Future Experiments Team (Remote, Full-Time)  

Hacktiv8 is on a mission to make skills-based education more accessible. We are commonly known for helping absolute beginners become job ready developers in 12 intensive weeks and help individuals attain jobs through skills based training.

The Hacktiv8 Future Experiments Team is a new business unit inside Hacktiv8 that works on ideating, conceptualizing and building new digital solutions to extend Hacktiv8’s goal to make skills based education more accessible.

As a Senior Front-End developer in this team, you live and breathe the fundamentals of JavaScript, CSS and HTML. You specialize in building responsive, adaptive and elegant-front end applications, which are fast and easy-to-use. You are keen on optimizing our web applications to maximize speed.

You’re an ideal candidate if you have:

• 5+ years of experience writing client-side JavaScript
• 2+ years experience with React, Angular, Flutter, and/or CSS preprocessors like LESS or SASS
• Experience building responsive layouts with CSS and HTML
• Experience with modern browser technologies
• UX and design sensibilities
• Strong communication and problem-solving skills
• Self-­awareness, a positive attitude, a sense of humor, and empathy
• Experience working on consumer facing products
• The Git workflow, including pull requests, code reviews, and CI/CD systems

Job Description

• You'll collaborate with backend to spec, write, test, and deploy code that integrates with real-time data streams and API endpoints
• You'll brainstorm features with product managers and designers and guide decisions based on your knowledge of the codebase
• You'll learn about and use new web technologies
• Create front-end applications by working closely with the other team members, using the newest web development framework and technologies. Embrace emerging standards while promoting best practices in order to push the limits of what a browser can do.
• Initiate, iterate and continuous improve on technology, developing the product as well as the way of work.
• Follow coding and security standards, build appropriate deployment scripts.

• Bachelor Degree or Master in Computer Science from Reputable University
• Strong analytical and planning skills;
