Senior Database Engineer [GO-MERCHANTS]  

Are you passionate with Databases, their uptime, and performance? Do you have excellent technical skills and great attention to detail required to manage data? Do you have deep technical understanding on how database engines and its configurations working together? If you are, this may be a perfect job for you!

You will be part of a heterogeneous IT engineering team to architect, scale, and maintain our data infrastructure. Our goal is to provide robust, performant, and transparent data infrastructure required for other services that have data to store.

In GOJEK, things move quickly and such, you need to adapt to this situation by managing priorities and improving work efficiency (such as automating repetitive work). Also as a startup we need someone who takes initiative and focus on getting things done.

• Expert knowledge of MySQL and InnoDB, including:
• All aspects of configuration
• Performance tuning, index tuning, and query optimization
• Backup solutions such as Percona Xtrabackup
• HA solutions such as keepalived, Pacemaker / Corosync
• Detailed understanding of critical monitoring systems
• Demonstrable experience in managing Linux systems
• Skilled using Bash script with passion for automation
• Ability to troubleshoot methodically, identifying and applying fixes for known errors, and when necessary, think outside the box to resolve complex issues
• Ability to join on-call rotation for operational issue escalation
• Polite, honest, friendly, and professional
• Excellent written and spoken English
