Head of Government Relations, Thailand  

Responsibilities

• Design, construct, implement, and lead Go-Jek’s policy and government relations strategy objectives at the national, state, and munipical state and federal levels. Represent Go-Jek’s positions directly, in partnership with our colleagues, industry associations, and other industry organizations.
• Work collaboratively within a regionalglobal team to develop public policy strategies and positions for including the creation of materials supporting advocacy on those positions.
• Identify, assess, and address regulatory challenges to business objectives in key regulated industries as well as the public sector market in partnership with and public policy colleagues. This includes collaborating with business units to ensure alignment between business priorities and public policy activities and goals.
• Identify and pursue opportunities for Go-Jek to address government challenges and opportunities while also working with trade associations, industry partners, non-profit groups, and other allies to promote and build support for public policy positions.
• Proactively shape the regulatory and political landscape to support innovation in the digital technology, transport, payments, and e-commerce landscapes, working together with a wide-range of stakeholders.
• Work collaboratively within a regional team to develop public policy strategies and positions for including the creation of materials supporting advocacy on those positions.

Qualifications

• 6+ years of relevant public policy experience working within government, think tanks, public interest groups, technology industry groups, or corporations.
• Thai language proficiency. Excellent oral, written, presentation and interpersonal skills. Must have at least a bachelor’s law degree and preference for an advanced degree (Master’s, PhD) in public policy, law, political science, or another relevant field.
• Direct experience working on ride hailing and transport, payments, and e-commerce related policies and activities preferred, but not necessary
• Proven ability to work independently, lead without authority, and the skills necessary to thrive in a technology start-up world with ambiguity and a rapidly changing landscape.
• Experience leading policy teams and initiatives at scale in a large organization.
• Capability to build and maintain excellent relationships with high-ranking governmental authorities, research/academic institutions, community or industry influencers and other third parties who may have significant influence on public policies.
• Proven ability and skills to conceive, analyze, develop and execute medium-to-long term strategies and campaigns to deal with complex issues of technology, policy and law, involving multiple issues and players.
• Regional ASEAN public policy experience welcomed, but not necessary
