Business Analyst  

Job Purpose:

Responsible in understanding and documenting project requirements within the company and to successfully manage small and medium scope projects to completion. This includes understanding of where we are before the project, where we want to be after the project and the required steps to reach the goal.

Essential Job Functions / Main Duties & Responsibilities:

• Document and evaluate business processes, anticipate requirements, uncover areas for improvements, identify practical solutions to business issues and problems, and develop and implement solutions
• Research impact of a project on other areas of business
• Conduct competitive analysis and perform benchmark studies
• Conduct interviews and execute requirements workshop to elicit and capture business, customer and transition requirements
• Gain the commitment of those responsible for making required decisions regarding functionality and behaviors of a proposed IT solution through formal sign-off of the requirements’ documentation
• Capture and maintain healthy business rules that define how the business will operate independently of technology
• Manage customer expectations and communication
• Work in teams alongside developers, QA testers and UI/UX designers to ensure all elements of web creation are consistent.

Job Requirements:

• Experience with one or more software delivery methodology such as Waterfall or Agile
• Programming experience is a big plus (any language)
• A general understanding of change management, business process management, and project management
• Good written and oral communication skills. Fluency in written and spoken English.
• Good planning, organizational and time management skills
• Strong analytical, conceptual and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail
• Ability to multi-task and manage multiple assignments in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to present and facilitate business issues and solutions to stakeholders with different and sometimes conflicting perspectives
• BA certification (e.g. IIBA, BCS) and/or agile certification (e.g. SCRUM) are preferable.
