QA Engineer  

We are looking for a Quality Assurance (QA) Engineer who will work closely with our Product and Technology team to deliver impactful EdTech experiences to our audience of 8 million Filipino learners.

The Quality Assurance Engineer will be responsible for developing and executing exploratory and automated tests to ensure product quality on Edukasyon’s website and projects.

People

• Collaborate with people across the engineering and product management teams to develop and apply testing processes for new and existing products to meet client needs
• Support, teach, and learn from, other team-members at Edukasyon, especially in Product, Digital Marketing, Marketing, and Partnerships

Product

• Review requirements, specifications, and technical design documents to provide timely and meaningful feedback
• Create detailed, comprehensive, and well-structured test plans and test cases
• Design, develop and execute automation scripts using open source tools
• Track quality assurance metrics, like defect densities and open defect counts
• Investigate the causes of non-conforming software/modules and train users to implement solutions
• Identify, record, document thoroughly and track bugs, and perform thorough regression testing

Purpose

• Ensure that the website can operate in the PH’s internet infrastructure and empower our 8m learners regardless of their internet connection quality

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Electrical Engineering, or equivalent work experience
• Must have at least 1–2 years of professional experience in testing web applications through user acceptance, integration, and regression testing
• Experience in writing clear, concise, and comprehensive test plans and test cases
• Solid knowledge of SQL and scripting
• Hands-on experience with both white box and black box testing
• Strong reasoning in critical incident triage and response through excellent analytical and problem-solving skills
• Has manual testing experience
• Knowledge of JIRA & Postman

Nice to have :

• Experience working in Agile, scrum-based teams
• Hands-on experience with automated testing tools and frameworks
• Experience with performance and/or security testing is a plus
• Familiarity with PostgreSQL, Angular, and REST APIs
• JavaScript and PostgreSQL experience preferred
