Procurement Manager | Semiconductor | Cavite  

This function manages, oversees and directs the activities of procurement team in sourcing, negotiating and procurement of components, operating supplies, tools, spare parts, services and contract management for and in support of Philippines operations and/or Asia/US region as the need may be. Requirements are generated through SAP and a separate requisition system. Supplier base is global and procurement is generally time sensitive.

Specific Duties and Responsibilities:

• Manage and oversee purchasing team in sourcing, negotiating and buying assigned commodities and ensuring supply stability, competitive price, consistent quality and on time delivery
• Negotiate and approve prices, minimum order quantities, lead times, terms (payment, incoterms), delivery dates, and other items as required. Analyze such terms for improvement potential and act accordingly and respond to internal company requests for such assistance.
• Generate and issue POs directly to qualified and approved vendors, or manage the PO creation and delivery process. Monitor vendors’ PO acceptance and aggressively resolve discrepancies and disputes ensuring the most favorable price, delivery terms, and schedule.
• Assign appropriate shipping instructions as directed by Maxim Logistics. Advise vendors on updates and manage for best delivery dates.
• Directly maintain delivery schedule in each PO. Identify delinquencies and/or react to internal and external queries and aggressively resolve problems. Update delivery schedule and communicate as required. Negotiate with vendors for better delivery schedules, including delayed receipt or cancellations as required.
• Work and report directly with Procurement Director to resolve team’s challenges and update purchase orders and other data as required. Negotiate with vendors any potential issues and concerns and to avoid delivery delays.
• Advise and work with Cost Accounting /Accounts Payable for payment discrepancies and issues as appropriate.
• Properly manage contracts and ensure none will expire before the renewal and replacement is in place. Work with project owner/user on the timing of contract activities (supplier selection criteria, pre-bidding, bidding, negotiating and awarding)
• Report on personal progress and performance through the internal goal reporting system.
• Conduct business with utmost integrity.

• Bachelor’s degree preferably Engineering or any Business courses or equivalent
• With at least 5 years work experience in the field of Sourcing, Procurement and/or Planning in a semiconductor or manufacturing firm, at least 3 years of which at a Managerial level.
• Knowledge and exposure in sourcing and purchasing/procuring of either one or more of direct and indirect materials, equipment, tools, spare parts or services in semiconductor/manufacturing firm.
