Accountant  

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Data Entry – code and enter documents eg Accounts Payable invoices
• Liaise with client staff eg Procurement; transaction enquires; expense receipts etc
• Enter and monitor monthly re-occurring General Ledger Journals
• Reconcile Accrual accounts
• Follow up outstanding Debtor payments via email
• Process monthly Creditor payments & Statement Reconciliations
• GST & BAS returns preparation and filing
• PAYE return preparation and filing
• Payroll – enter monthly Payroll; new employees; Final Pay processing
• Reconcile clients’ bank and credit card accounts
• Update clients’ cash flow forecast models in Excel
• Balance Sheet account reconciliations
• Reconciliation of Intercompany accounts
• Use Excel for Financial Statements and ad-hoc reports and analysis
• Assist with new implementations of Xero
• Support Director in new business opportunities
• Various accounting support tasks as required
• General administration tasks as required

Skills / Qualifications:

• Preferrably degree in Accounting
• 3 years and up related Accounting experience and/or qualification preferred
• Experience working for New Zealand or Australian accounts is an advantage
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills
• Understanding of accounting computer systems (e.g. Xero, MYOB, Quickbooks)
• Debtors/creditors knowledge
• Knowledge of accounting procedures
• Strong computer skills particularly Excel, Word
