Software Development Engineer in Test (C#)  

The Role

This is a senior automation test position within the QA organization that will be responsible for the successful implementation of automation test capabilities across our web and desktop applications. This opportunity supports the established and rapidly expanding business within the Health and Benefits line of business at WTW.

Responsibilities:

• Assessment of manual test suites and applications so you can develop an automation test framework. This activity needs to cover areas of testing required before and after applications are released to production.
• Lead the expansion of the automation capabilities as it relates to current manual regression test suites, that will supplement and optimize the manual testing currently supporting the project team.
• Create and maintain libraries and object repositories for automation frameworks.
• Mentor QA test engineers to spread adoption of automation strategy and best practices throughout the team.\
• Investigate new testing technologies and methodologies to continuously expand and improve product test coverage – supports continuous process improvements.
• Assisting in the functional testing of the applications, supporting manual testing where needed.
• Conducting effective load/performance testing using Visual Studio and/or other tools. Provide clear documentation on the steps of the testing and results gathered.
• Look for areas to introduce automation capabilities in support of infrastructure testing, which includes hardware and software upgrades and security patches.
• Creating test documentation for assigned projects including test planning documentation, test cases/scripts/scenarios and test summary reports.
• Ensure effective execution of the test plans to meet the quality objectives and stakeholder expectations.
• Analyzing, verifying and validating the accuracy of all deliverables, testing procedures and processes, ensuring a consistent and optimal level of quality
• Understands and applies current software test methodologies
• Developing effective professional relationships with project managers, business analysts, development staff, and team leads along with corporate technology team members, as needed.
• Records, reports and tracks issues/defects to accurately depict the status of the application under test, including providing test status reports and acting as the point of contact for issue tracking and updates.

The Requirements

• More than 8 years of experience working on a QA/Test team with at least 4+ years of experience working with UI test automation tools (Selenium, QTP, etc).
• Experience with building and managing automation frameworks.
• Experience working with Visual Studio Team Services / Azure Dev Ops a plus.
• Experience in both manual and automated testing with heavy concentration on web application testing support.
• Strong knowledge of the software development lifecycle, roles, and working in an agile environment is a plus.
• Knowledge and understanding of QA lifecycle including Unit, Functional, Regression, Integration, Security and UI Testing.
• Proven abilities to work under pressure with strict deadlines.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
• Strong experience with performance and load testing tools, especially with Visual Studio. Experience in performance testing for a wide range of application environments and protocols is a plus.
• Solid experience in creating, writing and executing test plans, test cases and test scripts.
• Strong work ethic and attention to detail.
• Strong troubleshooting skills with the ability to systematically analyze new and existing software functionality.
• General database knowledge, including the use of SQL queries. Advanced SQL query experience is a plus.
• Experience working with Bugs/Defect tracking tools and ability to work with development team through reproducing, retesting and closure of issues.
• Strong organizational and prioritization skills with ability to balance multiple projects within tight timelines.
