Procurement and Supplier Management Manager  

Purpose:

The Procurement and Supplier Management Manager will play a crucial role in ensuring the smooth and cost-effective and value-driven procurement of goods and services required for the company’s operations. This role will be responsible for developing and executing procurement strategies, managing supplier relationships, and collaborating with various stakeholders to ensure timely and efficient delivery of supplies and services while maintaining quality and cost-efficiency. The Procurement and Supplier Management Manager should have exceptional negotiation skills, strong leadership capabilities and a deep understanding of procurement and supplier management best practices. Additionally, the Manager will provide mentorship, training, and coaching to the procurement and supplier management team.

Duties and Responsibilities:

• Develop and execute comprehensive procurement and supplier management strategies – including the creation and implementation of quality systems, processes, policies – aligned with the company's goals, ensuring optimal and time efficient sourcing, cost savings, supplier management, and risk management.
• Identify, evaluate, and onboard reliable suppliers, negotiating favorable terms and conditions for contracts.
• Cultivate and maintain strong supplier relationships to foster collaboration, innovation, mutual growth, and long-term partnerships.
• Resolve supplier-related issues promptly and address concerns in a professional and proactive manner.
• Conduct supplier performance assessments and maintain a supplier database for continuous improvement
• Continuously analyze the procurement and supplier management process to identify opportunities for cost reduction, waste elimination, and process improvements while maintaining quality standards.
• Lead complex and critical contract negotiations, ensuring favorable terms and conditions that benefit the company's interests.
• Lead and mentor the procurement team, fostering a collaborative and motivated work environment, and providing guidance to enhance individual and team knowledge, expertise, skills and overall performance.
• Ensure compliance with relevant industry regulations and company policies, and identify potential risks in the procurement process, implementing mitigation and contingency plans as needed.
• Stay updated on market trends, industry developments, and supplier performance, leveraging this information to make informed procurement decisions.
• Monitor expenditure, providing regular reports on procurement-related spending.
• Identify opportunities for process streamlining, automation, and digitalization to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the procurement and supplier management function.

Competency

• Strong negotiation skills and the ability to secure favorable terms and conditions in contracts
• Working knowledge in procurement software, enterprise resource planning (ERP) systems, and other relevant tools
• Strong analytical skills and ability to interpret data to be able to make informed decisions on a timely basis
• Solid understanding of procurement regulations, ethics, risk management, and best practices
• Proven ability to identify potential risks in the procurement process and implement effective mitigation strategies
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
• Highly attentive to detail

• 10+ years’ experience in procurement, with a demonstrated track record of success in strategic sourcing, negotiation and vendor management
• Experience in managing and leading a team, fostering a culture of excellence and continuous improvement
• Certification in procurement or supply chain management (e.g., CSCP, CPSM) is a plus
