Job Description

The successful Operations Analyst must intimately understand how Thumbtack works, and will be effective at leveraging Team Philippines to help US teams scale and experiment in a big way. Your charge will be to work across the organization and support the operationalization of key projects and optimize existing marketplace metrics. You will be part project manager and part business analyst, and you will also help build operations infrastructure (teams, systems, processes) to help Team Philippines move fast and scale rapidly.

Responsibilities

• Help operationalize new projects designed to help Thumbtack grow and improve marketplace experience
• Serve as the glue between San Francisco teams (Marketing, Product, Support) and the Philippines’ Operations teams for new and existing projects – this requires a strong grasp of company and team culture in both geographies
• Collect requirements, understand business context, and help implement processes in the Philippines (includes: identifying skill profile, staffing volume, and training needs)
• Provide change management when critical workflows change following product or process iterations in the business
• Optimize existing operations tasks in the Philippines
• Build comprehensive and insightful data dashboards to monitor and report on key metrics related to operations
• Use data to drive continuous improvement in operational processes (performance, efficiency and quality) and work with leaders in the Philippines, San Francisco, and Salt Lake City to ensure that they are aligned with marketplace experience and business goals
• Help to build teams, systems, and processes in the Philippines to keep up with Thumbtack business needs

• Strong analytical toolkit and comfort working with large data sets (advanced Excel a must, SQL a plus)
• Uncanny ability to synthesize complex issues into addressable parts
• Demonstrated experience solving difficult business problems
• Comfort with technology (products, tools, businesses)
• Exceptional English communication and presentation skills

Bonus points

• SQL skills, and experience using data platforms (Tableau, Looker, GoodData, etc.)
