Graphics Designer (Maps/Travel Guides) - Remote Work  

As an Graphics Designer/illustrator your main duties will be create, coordinate and edit all media assets for our new travel shelf publishing business "Gone Travel", think Lonely Planet type books. The candidate will brainstorm, create and co-ordinate media asset that would complete the ebook as a fully integrated travel guide. The allocation of your duties are as follows:

50% - City guide maps creation
You will creation an easy to read city maps with all the call out of the main tourist attraction mention in the travel guide

30% - Digital Graphics Editorial

You will go through the book and add photos of related topics through out the book. For example if a paragraph talks about Effel Towel, you are task with finding and adding an Eiffel towel media asset.

20% - Planning and coordination

You will plan and coordinate your activities with the owner and writers in an efficient/effective manner

We hope the candidate to be malleable and grow with the company; we will provide as much guidance as possible so we want the candidate to be completely open minded and be willing learn. We require the candidate to have strong command of the English language, especially writing.

A candidate with a healthy interest in travel or related industry will be a plus

• Strong command of English (written, comprehensive, spoken)
• Intermediate level in MS Excel and MS Word
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop, InDesign, Dreamweaver and Illustrator is preferred
• Good organization skills
• Be willing to learn and take constructive criticisms
