Job Description

The Protection, Gender, Inclusion (PGI) Coordinator involves leadership of the Philippine Red Cross (PRC) PGI initiative under the guidance of the Welfare Services. The role provides technical support to PRC PGI policy development and implementation to mainstream PGI initiatives across PRC programs and services

  • Support PRC in harmonising Protection, Gender and Inclusion policy development, review, and implementation, including follow up on the Philippines Red Cross Gender and Diversity Organizational Self-Assessment Findings and Action Plan, Disability Inclusion Action plan and implementation of Child Protection Policy
  • Development of Chapter toolkits for mainstreaming PGI including guidelines, training manuals and Information, Education and Communications (IEC) materials
  • Support and advise HR on recruitment, policy implementation, database management, staff complaints and grievance system, incident management to improve diversity, engagement, and employment of vulnerable groups
  • Oversight of monitoring and evaluation support for PRC to track progress and impact, special attention on improving assessment work (gathering of sex and age data, and its analysis), use of the Minimum Standard Commitments to Gender and Diversity and other defined tools
  • Provide technical advice and guidance to mainstream protection, gender, and inclusion across Philippines Red Cross programs
  • Follow up on the Sexual and Gender Based Violence (SGBV) Action plan for the Philippines
  • Participate and lead the PRC different PGI Technical Working Groups
  • Support and co-facilitate Gender and Disability Inclusion training workshops and capacity building activities
  • Develop technique and strategies to make the Gender and Disability Inclusion capability building simple and meet the needs of the trainees
  • Support the Gender and Disability Inclusion implementation, monitoring and coordination of activities and ensuring compliance with reporting requirements
  • Provide assistance in the creation of new child protection modules and guidelines to assist PRC Services and Chapters
  • Develop and conduct PRC Child Protection Risk Assessment
  • Provide technical child protection advice to PRC Service Department and chapters, movement partners and other stakeholders as required
  • Review and facilitate child protection training or mentoring as needs are identified for PRC National Headquarters and chapter staff
  • Support and assist the Chair of the Child Protection Technical Working Group to promote child protection across PRC programs and services
  • Actively communicate, monitor and report on progress and compliance with the implementation of the Child Protection Policy and Implementation Plan
  • Coordinate with Child Protection focal persons within the different department and offices to grow child protection initiatives.
  • Other relevant duties as assigned by the Welfare Services and Australian Red Cros

Minimum Qualifications

  • Master's degree in Gender Studies, Social Sciences, International Relations or equivalent field
  • Minimum of 2-3 years experience in mainstreaming protection, gender, inclusion in the
  • Preferably with experience coordinating projects with the RCRC Movement
  • Experience in the provision of high-quality technical advice to stakeholders at all levels of organizational hierarchy
