Purchasing Supervisor  

• Supervises the daily activities of the purchasing function.
• Reviews purchasing decisions, orders, and vendor contracts. Oversees the ordering of materials and supplies from vendors.
• A level I supervisor is considered a working supervisor with little authority for personnel actions.

Position Scope and Purpose:

• Lead and manage buying staff to achieve company goals.
• Responsible for ensuring sufficient amounts of raw materials and supplies are procured to support the operational requirements.
• This includes controlled costs linked to logistics, inventory management and economical order quantity (EOQ’s.)
• Responsible for the continuous flow of materials to have a positive impact on inventory turns, on-time delivery, cost, lead-time and quality. Effectiveness is measured through metric performance.
• Ensure that procedures are in place to review purchase order requests and that purchase contracts are authorized and approved according to company policy.
• Position requires the ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships will all levels of employees, across all functions of the organization including customers and suppliers.
• Ability to communicate effectively. Bachelor’s degree in Materials Management, Business Administration or a related field required.
• Minimum of five years of management/supervisor experience in operations/manufacturing.
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience in procurement or sourcing.

• Minimum of 2 years of Purchasing Role
• Exposure to Food Service Industry is an advantage
• Must be MS OFFICE proficient especially with EXCEL
• Quickbooks knowledge is an advantage
• Strong analytical and planning skills
• Good communication and presentation skills
• Excellent problem-solving skills
