Kumu is looking for a new Data Engineer who will extract, transform, and load data from various sources and store them in our data warehouses.

Here's what a Data Engineer would do on a daily basis:

• Maintain existing data warehouse
• Build pipelines to migrate data into the data warehouse.
• Automate updating of data updates.
• Integrate data warehouses with external data sources.
• Clean & transform data into the actionable forms.
• Assist in planning out data models for new data sources
• Optimize data ETL processes.

As a Data Engineer, it would be awesome if you have:

• Basic understanding of business metrics for app analytics
• Strong communication skills to be able to coordinate between various stakeholders
• Basic knowledge of architecture / pipeline diagrams and documentation
• Strong preferences or familiarity working with these types of data:
  • Event streaming
  • Image / Video live streaming
  • Transactional
  • ECommerce
• Strong programming knowledge in Python for developing ETL components
• Working knowledge of SQL for data analysis and table transformations
• Cloud Platform Experiences
• Experience in working with cloud infrastructure - AWS or GCP
• Storage services (S3, GCS)
• Databases Services - SQL & NoSQL (RDS, DynamoDB, BigQuery, etc.)
• Serverless Compute Functions (Lambda, Cloud Functions)
