Product Development, Strategy and Planning Head  

Purpose of Role

The PDSP Head integrates the different product strategies into a cohesive product vision and integrated product roadmap. The head will collaborate with the other members of the team in formulating the long term product vision and capability roadmaps. Also, the head will advise and coordinate with operating teams (product and technical) to ensure product lifecycle activities are aligned with the long term product vision and strategies.

Key Responsibilities:

A. Product Development

• Defines Product Vision and secures Senior Management buy-in and approval
• Coordinates with senior corporate and technology planners of the organization to ensure support for Product Vision and strategies
• Directs team in refining product strategies and product capability roadmaps
• Challenges insights generated in aid of formulating sound product strategies
• Orchestrates research and other insight generation tracks as input to the Product Strategy and Planning process
• Recommends product policies and governance frameworks to ensure product operations are aligned with the product vision and strategy
• Interacts with architecture stakeholders from middle to senior management including the EA board members to gather sponsorships and support for long term product objectives.
• Integrates high-level economic strategy of planned product lines in Product Strategies.

B. Network and Strategy

• Develops capacity plans that are required to support the business forecasts:
  • Runs the Capacity Planning Process (Morpheus) to get the business forecasts and the solution necessary to support the forecasts
  • Provides technical and process recommendations to team
  • Holds meetings with one-downs and other teams to increase accuracy of business case CAPEX and alignment of build plans
  • Provides directions/milestones/ timelines to team to complete business cases on time and within scope
  • Provides inputs and recommendations during the business case post-review
  • Monitors the execution and performance of build plan execution against the business cases on an monthly bases or as needed
  • Leads the development of process improvements within the scope of the Capacity Management team through the following:
    • Providing direction, scope and timelines to one-downs on process improvement initiative.
    • Providing recommendations to Capacity Planning head on process improvements within the scope of Capacity Management
    • Reviewing and approving recommended process improvements submitted by one-downs.

A graduate of any 4-year course in Engineering, IT, Computer, Technology, Business or equivalent

Work Experience

• 12-15 years operational experience in Product Management, Product Development.
• 2-3 years experience in Strategy Management.
• Knowledgeable in Mobile, Fixed and Data businesses.
• IT/Network/ Telco tech industry experience.
• Experience working in or with a consultancy role.
