Job Description
- Operation and maintain Oracle databases and Microsoft SQLserver databases
- Maintain, update, and implement database archiving processes and procedures
- Maintain the databases to meet performance and security standards, to maximize efficiency, and to minimize outages
- Perform physical database server administration functions such as DB configuration, database monitoring and backup and recovery
- Perform and document database shutdowns and restarts, and other maintenance activities
- Perform database backup, reorganizations, tuning and other related activities to optimize availabiility and performance - when required
- Troubleshoot, analyze, and resolve database related incidents and service requests
- Support change management and problem management activities
Minimum Qualifications
- Graduate of any four year IT related course or above
- At least 2-3 years practical experience in Microsoft SQL Server database administration (e.g. SQLserver 2008/2012/2014)
- At least 2 years experience in Oracle database administration (e.g. Oracle11g)
- Practical skills in database security management
- Practical skills in database systems and data backup and restore technologies and procedures
- At least 2 years experience in CentOS/Red Hat Linux and Windows 2008/2012 server administration
- Experience in building database infrastructure i.e. experience in installation, configuration of database systems from scratch; setting up DB cluster services, high-availability and failover mechanisms
- Candidate should be knowledgeable in using secure terminal tools e.g. putty; mobaXterm, RDP
- Familiar with virtual infra technologies, e.g. VMware ESX/ESXi
- Familiar with enterprise storage technologies, e.g. EMC Networker
- Knowledgeable in ITILv3 IT service management framework and processes (e.g. Incident Management, Service Request Management, Change Management, Problem Management)
