Maintenance and Reliability Engineer  

• Troubleshoot complex equipment issues and support production operations through the effective, maintenance and repair of equipment and systems;
• Maintain and enhance the plant's equipment and facilities including applying corrective; engineering techniques to effect improvements in equipment reliability;
• Develop, install, and implement plans for preventive maintenance programs;
• Review design and future maintenance of engineering and construction project proposals in order to achieve or exceed levels of production, upgrade maintenance troubleshooting, decrease production interruptions and improve maintenance productivity;
• Support scoping, design, cost estimation and implementation of capital improvement projects.
• Support implementation of SAP maintenance management system.
• Manage site energy usage programs;
• Assist the Maintenance Team in the preparation of shutdown work schedules and assigning of projects in order to maintain/exceed the level of performance needed to meet departmental goals;
• Assist with coordinator of annual outage planning and scheduling;
• Develop mechanical skill set of the mechanics through training programs, coaching, and maintenance of standards;
• Perform other job-related duties and responsibilities as assigned

Process Safety Management

• Maintain and review systems which impact process safety (procedures, process change, refresher training, new installation training, etc) such that the integrity of the management system is maintained in areas of maintenance.

Safety, Health, and Environment

• Support safety policies and procedures by ensuring that all maintenance work and engineering projects assigned have been critically reviewed for safety & health considerations;
• Implement and control inspection schedule of global mechanical integrity program.
• Provide training assistance whenever possible to ensure employee safety awareness;
• Monitor and ensure completion of facility inspections;
• Act as a liaison with inspection and insurance agencies in terms of annual equipment inspections, insurance related inspections, provincial/federal mandated inspections and FMC regulated inspections;
• Ensure that all maintenance work or maintenance originated projects are completed in such a way that the work supports the existing environmental regulations.
• Conduct imnvestigations into any system failures and develop and implement programs to prevent re-occurrence.

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering with license in mechanical engineering
• Minimum 5-8 years in a Maintenance Engineering role, preferably in a pharmaceutical or food manufacturing environment.
• Good working knowledge and understanding of Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) systems with working knowledge of SAP highly desirable.
