Tax Manager  

Job Summary:

You will be responsible for leading the department in holding all duties and tax-related activities and issues of the company and its affiliates, including the management of all Securities Exchange Commission (SEC) reportorial requirements.

Job Description:

• Ensures timely submission on all required periodic returns and ascertains accurate application of related duties and taxes on all financial transactions, in compliance with all relevant tax/regulatory policies (BIR, BOC, etc.)
• Develops and implements tax planning strategies
• Manages resolution of audits, assessments, and notices
• Designs and maintains policies and procedures for tax compliance and to maintain effective control effective control procedures over all aspects of the tax process
• Trains and develops assistants and all involved in tax-related documentation processes
• Keeps up-to-date with tax updates, communicates developments, and creates strategies to adapt to changes in taxation rules
• Provides advice on tax consequences of business transactions and policies, tax saving measures, and lowering tax-related risks and exposure
• Collaborates closely with accounting with respect to recording transactions
• Undertakes other ad hoc accounting and financial reporting-related tasks as may be necessary

Qualifications:

• Preferably Assistant Manager / Manager level specializing in taxation or equivalent.
• At least 5 years of post-qualification experience in public accounting and tax, preferably in a public accounting firm
• Strong proficiency in creating and managing policies and procedures
• Bachelor’s Degree in Accountancy (preferably CPA)
• Experience in any of the Big 4 auditing firms is an advantage
• Experience in BIR coordination preferred
