Job Description

- Hands-on approach in all aspects of working with production machines
- Effective written and verbal communication skills are essential.
- Highly analytical approach with production data, metrics and control charts (LEAN/6Sigma skills)
- Critical Thinking, Independent, Highly motivated to solve problems.
- Mature, Strong Initiative and Creativity in carrying out position’s duties.
- Fault isolation, problem solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to manage a major project from conception to finish.
- Ability to methodize and improve production processes.
- Working knowledge of modern computer integrated manufacturing systems and statistical process control is advantageous.
- Design and Fabrication of Simple tools, jigs and fixtures.
- Ability to investigate, discover, transfer, and ability to use AUTOCAD or other computer design software to help in engineering design tasks.
- Equipment Set up and Process Optimization
- Documentation of Key Support and/or Manufacturing Processes and Procedures
- Leads and \ or participates in resolutions of problems, which may be people, machinery or process related.
- Proposed equipment and / or facilities are studied, quotations obtained and alternatives evaluated.
- Assigned equipment, facilities, and / or designs are completed and reviewed.
- Appropriations are prepared and/or reviewed with proper ROI and / or payback in conjunction with accounting.
- Acquisition, installation, debugging and project completions are on time and within budget
- Equipment maintenance program is being executed to ensure better equipment utilization, including cleanliness 5S program
- Test equipment is maintained, calibrated on schedule and new test equipment needs are identified, justified and procured.
Minimum Qualifications
- Engineering Degree, preferably Mechanical or Optics or Diploma with relevant experience in precision component or optics manufacturing.
- Five or more years work experience as a manufacturing, process or project engineer in an optical manufacturing environment or a MNC, highly technical, light manufacturing environment.
