Guidance Counselor  

Under the supervision of the Health Services Coordinator, the Guidance Counselor provides counseling, conducts activities and researches to address the personal and psycho-emotional needs of the students.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

Test Administration and Analysis

• Administers psychological testing for the students
• Interprets guidance tests results and informs students of said results

Individual Guidance and Counseling

• Provides individual counseling to students
• Conducts case conferences with the appropriate parties to facilitate the needs of the students
• Documents and keeps file of all counseling cases
• Ensures confidentiality of case details of the students
• Makes referrals to relevant offices when necessary
• Makes referrals to outside professionals (e.g., medical doctors, etc.) when necessary

Program Development and Intervention

• Oversees the conduct of assigned workshops (sample topics include academic achievement, mental wellness, social adjustment of students, coping, resilience, etc)
• Conducts research and presents findings in order to better address the concerns of the students
• Facilitates small group discussion in determining needs of the students
• Facilitates guidance orientation activities that serve as an introduction to the services and programs of the guidance office

Performs other related tasks assigned by the Health Services Coordinator.

• Registered/ Licensed Guidance Counselor
• MA in Counseling Psychology or Master of Education/Guidance and Counseling
• With four (4) year work experience on the following:
• Test administration and interpretation
• Data gathering and analysis
• Very good skills in:
• Counseling
• Facilitating, organizing and coordinating
• Interpersonal and people skills
• Oral and Written Communications
