Network Admin (Linux Engineer)  

Plan, manage and execute strategies for documentation, installation, configuration, maintenance, troubleshooting, evaluation, performance monitoring and upgrading system software and hardware components.

Interact with numerous computer platforms in a multi-layered client-server environment. Ensure user workstations interconnect seamlessly with diverse systems, file servers, email servers, computer conferencing systems, application servers and other administrative systems.

Assist staff the installation, configuration and ongoing usability of user workstations (laptops and desktops), peripheral equipment and software within established standards and guidelines.

Work with helpdesk and other Network Administrators in the planning, installation, support, and configuration of Linux OS (RHEL, CentOS), Windows workstation and server platforms and associated services.

Maximize network performance by monitoring performance; troubleshooting network problems and outages; scheduling upgrades; collaborating with customer on network optimization.

Provide 24 x 7 on call support and on site for major issues.

Monitor and respond to alerts from the technology infrastructure in order to ensure proper SLA’s are met.

Secures network and system operational status by gathering, prioritizing information; managing projects.

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science/Information Technology or equivalent experience
• Proven troubleshooting skills and confirmed sound judgment of taking appropriate actions regarding findings or concerns.
• Knowledge of HP and Cisco Switches.
• 4-5 years of experience in Linux Server Administration (RHEL, CentOS).
• MySQL experience, also a plus.
• Basic IPv4 network troubleshooting skills.
• Strong analytical skills, attention to detail, and excellent business communication skills required.
• Proven experience interacting with various levels of internal and external business partners/users.
• Established ability to work in a dynamic and diverse work environment which requires multi-tasking and flexibility.
• Understanding of Microsoft active directory, Windows 7, Microsoft Office 2010+. Office 365 experience is a plus.
