Backed by Starfish Ventures and AirTree Ventures, DesignCrowd is preparing to scale internationally and is recruiting in our product design and development team to assist in the design and implementation of front-end facets of the marketplace.

Responsibilities

• Design and implement front-end assets using a combination of HTML, Sass/CSS, and JavaScript.
• Work closely with UI / UX Leads, Senior Front-end Engineers, and Back-end Engineers to produce responsive components.
• Deliver front-end assets that consider performance, page-size, cross-browser support, and responsive design.
• Continually improve the quality of front-end implementation which includes the following:
  • Cleaning up of existing implementation.
  • Resolving front-end defects.
  • Assisting in rollout of framework improvements.
• Maintain strong and consistent communication with remote development team in different locations such as Sydney.
• Troubleshoot and fix front-end bugs.

Qualifications

• University Degree with web development/design background (high quality self-taught engineers will also be considered)

Experience and Skills

• Minimum of 3 years work experience in designing, implementing and managing web user interfaces using technologies such as HTML, CSS, SASS and JavaScript.
• High-level proficiency with HTML & CSS.
• Excellent communication skills (both written and verbal).
• Ability to switch quickly between work and different development environments such as legacy systems, greenfield projects, etc.
• Should have worked with front-end frameworks such as Foundation, Bootstrap, or similar.
• Should have experience in / with the following:
  • Git (GitHub or BitBucket)
  • Gulp.js and/or NPM
  • New technologies in web development such as flexbox and CSS3.
  • JavaScript and jQuery.
  • Photoshop and/or Sketch.
