Media Relations Officer  

MCPI is looking for a full-time Media Relations Officer to join its growing team. New hires are responsible for reaching out to existing and new media outlet to secure coverage for clients’ products & services. Media Relations officers will collaborate with accounts managers & creatives team in to execute specified goals.

Responsibilities

• Overseeing communications to the media (print, television, digital, bloggers, Opinion Leaders), including preparing articles, press kits, press releases, and other content initiatives.
• Ensuring the company protects and promotes its clients’ images in a proper, coordinated, and consistent manner.
• Cultivating and enhancing collaborative working relationships within the press and publicity community.
• Developing distribution calendars to ensure the company is managing the flow of news about its clients to the media to maximize releases.
• Optimizing communication system to enhance the accuracy of communication.
• Develop relationships with national and regional press contacts around the world to ensure clients’ reputations are promoted.
• Planning and overseeing press events.
• Detecting public relations issues as they emerge and addressing them directly.
• Researching new targets.

• Bachelor degree from a top University in related field or comparable experience is required.
• Highly proficient with Microsoft office – especially excel
• Familiar with project management software, Trello
• Proficient writer
• Comfortable talking with people (via phone, email and in person)
• An excellent communicator and collaborator
• Detail-oriented in context of a fast-paced environment
• A team player who is capable of motivating sub-employees
• Capable of hitting daily deadlines
