The Front Desk Agent is responsible for guests check in and out. Provides accurate information for all queries. Deals with minor guest complaints.
- Performs check-in procedures within the set standards of the hotel.
- Greet guest with a smile upon arrival. Apply the 10-5 ft. rule.
- Ask the guest name and valid identification.
- Confirm his booking details in the Opera system such as room type, length of stay and rate.
- Register the guest by asking to fill out the registration form.
- Ask guest for preferred mode of settlement either cash or credit card.
- Request for the required amount of deposit as necessary.
- Cut key and hand over to guest.
- Inform guest of the rate inclusions (i.e. breakfast, internet, parking facilities etc.) and other hotel facilities and services (i.e. spa, gym, pool, restaurants / bar, lounge).
- Performs End Of Day procedures. (Night Batch)
- Print rate variance and check rate applied, statistical codes (i.e. Market, Source etc.) for each in-house guests are correct.
- Room discrepancy reports should be resolved and coordinated with housekeeping.

- All POS (Infrasys) should be closed before running the end of day procedure.
- File all No Show / Canceled correspondences for submission to RESA for appropriate charging.
- Print all end of day reports for distribution to all concerned departments.
- Make sure all wakeup call requests are submitted to the telex staff.
- Resolve all front office traces for the present day.
