Magic is a personal assistant on-demand. Consumers use us for a variety of tasks. Businesses use Magic primarily for sales, customer support, recruiting, research, and lead generation assistance. However a business could come in wanting to use Magic for anything so you must be prepared to learn about business areas that may not be familiar.
We have a small and growing sales team. Our current team has been sourced from our in-house team, some of which have sales experience and some of which do not. Much of your role will be imparting your sales knowledge on them and helping to manage and grow the team.
Current management is located in San Francisco, CA (USA), we talk every day over Slack and on the phone.
It is likely that you will start as a salesperson on the same level as everyone else. We expect that with your background and experience in sales that you will outpace everyone else on the team and be the obvious choice for manager and senior salesperson.
Magic is a startup. If you work with us it is likely that we lack certain things that you are accustomed to, for instance the sales team currently does not work on commission. As a startup, we are open to changing everything, and part of what we are looking for is someone who wants to build us from a fledgeling sales team to a well-oiled sales machine.
We are open to remote work, but will require at least 3 days per week in our office located in BGC.
General job duties
- Enhances sales staff accomplishments and competence by planning delivery of solutions; answering technical and procedural questions for less experienced team members; teaching improved processes; mentoring team members.
- Identifies business opportunities by identifying prospects and evaluating their position in the industry; researching and analyzing sales options.
- Sells products by establishing contact and developing relationships with prospects; recommending solutions.
- Maintains relationships with clients by providing support, information, and guidance; researching and recommending new opportunities; recommending profit and service improvements.
- Services existing accounts, obtains orders, and establishes new accounts by planning and organizing daily work schedule to call on existing or potential sales outlets and other trade factors.
- Keeps management informed by submitting activity and results reports, such as daily call reports, weekly work plans, and monthly and annual territory analyses.
- Recommends changes in products, service, and policy by evaluating results and competitive developments.
- Resolves customer complaints by investigating problems; developing solutions; preparing reports; making recommendations to management.
- Maintains quality service by establishing and enforcing organization standards.
