Product Insights Analyst  

The Magic Product Team is looking for a Product Insights Analyst to turbocharge impactful product development.

Goals:

• Help the team define outcomes based on data. This isn't a shot in the dark but will be based on analysis and quantitative research. They will help track progress against outcomes.

Example: Increase client retention by making it super fast for them to get to the right assistant. We will measure this by the time it takes to for clients to accept a new assistant.

• Clarify input metrics. Many teams focus on outputs like churn or revenue. We will need help to figure out the inputs. What causes churn? What maximizes revenue? Analysts will help the product team understand the levers to move the outputs.

Example: The main drivers of client happiness are assistant attendance, consistent progress reports, and faster than expected results.

• Help enable hypothesis-driven development. As we are a new product, we may rely on intuition, market standards, and other qualitative measures - but the analyst will help prove our product ideas based on data. The analyst should help us build the system to run and create experiments.

Example: If we enabled clients to see assistant utilization, they will optimize for better delegation.

• Help conduct qualitative user research to better understand our data.

You will produce:

• Data reports for specific product features, for a suite of products, and for tests
• User research summaries, including insights from user interviews, user journey and pain points maps, and product maps
• Presentations for the key team and company quarterly metrics
• Ad hoc spreadsheets and reports for stakeholders
• Analytic dashboards (e.g. Google Analytics, Hubspot) for the team to track progress

Requirements:

• 2+ years of experience in a quantitative analysis role (e.g. finance, research)
• Experience with working with databases and spreadsheets
• Excellent communication skills: written and speaking
• Biased towards action, results - constantly pushing for greater clarity and simplicity; self-motivated
• Ability to identify root causes for changes in key metrics and be able to validate your hypothesis with data
• Experience with speaking and asking questions from people, via phone, email, or video calls
• Ability to learn fast, proven by tangible job roles

Bonus Experience

• Experience with SQL and other analytical tools
• Comfortable speaking in public and being in front of the camera for video calls
• Experience in consulting, strategy, product operations management, data science, or research roles
• Ability to coalesce data from a wide variety of sources
• Knowledge of Magic Dedicated product
• Experience synthesizing complex data ideas into a narrative for senior leadership
• Experience influencing stakeholders with data
• Experience with user research for startups or technology products
