Deskripsi Pekerjaan
- Supports enterprise storage area networks (ESN), network attached storage (NAS) and tape backup/restore technology in a mission/business critical environment. Day to day support of computing environments (e.g. UNIX, Linux, Wintel, typically teamed with data center operations, production support and escalation teams. Provides 24-hour on-call support for problem analysis and resolution to system problems on a rotational basis. Receives questions by phone or e-mail, resolves problems, and gives information to callers. Reviews incident trends and proactively registers problems and implements changes to reduce outages
- Designs and implements SAN, storage systems, and server solutions to address business needs as well as to improve and/or maintain the quality of service of systems. Participates in capacity planning, system installations, upgrades, and other maintenance activities for enterprise and departmental systems
- Works with various vendors of SAN equipment to maintain equipment up to the latest levels of firmware/microcode to ensure the maximum performance and availability of the SAN. Develops and maintains effective working relations with users, vendors, and other department personnel
- Creates, tests and verifies written description of steps necessary to modify systems and procedures required to implement new software and hardware
- Completes special projects and other job related duties as assigned by management. Provides project reports and other documentation throughout the project lifecycle and quality assurance for projects. Provides documentation of current and future systems
Kualifikasi Minimum
- A Bachelor's degree (BS, BA) preferred
- 3-5 years progressive IT experience to include 3 or more years’ experience with SAN/NAS technology including Dell, Nimble and other Intel based or large scale SAN solutions, administration and tools
- Experience managing an Enterprise Backup environment, including collection and publication of backup requirements, completing backup and recovery jobs, and ongoing testing of the operational capability to meet all recovery requirements
- Experience with SAN configuration, and administration
- Solid understanding of Operating System principles, and proven track record configuring, troubleshooting, and backup & recovery of Windows Server environments experience with some of the following: Dell Compellent, EqualLogic, Nimble, EMC, Fiber Channel, SAN, NAS, Windows Server, Veritas (Volume Manager, Filesystem, VCS NetBackup)
- Successful experience with customers to develop effective solutions
- Proficient with each product within Microsoft Office Suite including Visio
