UI/UX Developer  

Job Description - Overview:

The UI/UX Developer will possess in-depth knowledge of responsive and adaptive design and should understand the entire web development process, including design, development and deployment, including web back-end knowledge.

Key Job Functions and Duties:

• Showcase design ideas through sitemaps, storyboards, and process flows.
• Implement the latest design innovations to ensure that the product is in accordance with the cutting-edge technology.
• Define user task flows and interaction models.
• Create a cohesive style guide to ensure consistent design language is followed across the product.
• Create prototypes, wireframes, and mock-ups to demonstrate the functioning and layout of the product.
• Conduct usability testing to identify gaps in design and see if they can be further improved.

Reporting structure:

The UI/UX developer will report to the Head of the LSSE Department

General skills:

• Ability to understand CSS changes to have consistent style across platforms and browsers
• Ability to convert comprehensive layout and wireframes into working HTML pages
• Thorough understanding of the Software Development Lifecycle (e.g. Requirements, Design, Development, Testing) and exposure to Agile or iterative SDLCs.
• Working knowledge of the following technologies and software: Sketch, InVision, Visio, HTML, CSS (SCSS), iOS, Android, Design Systems and Adobe Creative Suite. Desired Experience & Qualities
• Producing high quality UX design solutions through wireframes, visual and graphic designs, flow diagrams, storyboards, site maps, and prototypes.
• Designing UI elements and tools such as navigation menus, search boxes, tabs, and widgets for our digital assets.
• Testing UI elements such as CTAs, banners, page layouts, page designs, page flows, and target links for landing pages.

Qualifications and Accreditations:

Bachelor's degree IT or a related field
