Events Manager  

The event manager is generally responsible for organizing and running all kinds of promotional, business and social events which may include:

• Corporate and Social Events
• Conferences, Conventions and Exhibits
• Product Launches
• Festivals
• Fundraisers and Advocacy Events
• Shows, Parties and Concerts
• Product Activations
• Press, Media and Roundtable Events.

The Job Itself

The event manager controls the entire project from planning, conceptualization, execution and post-event review and evaluation. And as such, his/her daily activities will include:

• Mapping out the client’s objectives and requirements
• Coming up with original, creative and unique ideas for events
• Managing budgets and timelines with the Nuclear Project Manager, as aligned with client expectations
• Maintaining a rich, current database of industry-related contacts, suppliers, venues, talents and the like
• Negotiating prices with suppliers and contractors as agreed upon with the Vendor Management Officer
• Hiring and contracting various project employees and suppliers as specified in the Event Scope of Work provided by the Project Management team
• Directly supervising and managing the Events Coordinator in the completion of all required deliverables specific to each event
• Managing the events schedule of GMCI, ensuring that all resources, budgets and timelines are maximized, while guaranteeing seamless and excellent event executions

• Our ideal candidate could come from a variety of backgrounds, though we are looking for relevant experience or solid, transferable skills such as client management, budget management, organization and negotiation.
• Our event manager should have at least five (5) years direct experience in managing events. The experience could have been part of a role in a job such as a marketing or brand executive or directly as an events manager in an events management company.
• We will look for direct event coordination experience, preferably obtained from holding an entry-level position. Production and producer-related work experience is preferred and will be a strong plus for the candidate. Additional training in the technical fields of event management such as directing, technical production work and the like will also be highly considered and will equate to additional and appropriate compensation.
