Full-Stack Web Developer  

Primarily, the role exists to assist in the back-end development of our MARN web applications in harmony with the front-end developers. Specifically, the candidate will be expected to deploy new features on a production level across the stack. You will be given specific tasks to complete, and features to deploy under time constraints but you will have freedom in terms of the actual implementation.

You will be working within the Product Team at FlySpaces, consisting of a Senior Technical Lead, Front-end Developer, QA Specialist, Product Designer, and Project Manager. Learning on the job is crucial and you should move fast in instances where challenges surface. Crucially, we expect and will support you in improving your skills beyond regular work-time to surpass your potential. In short, we are looking for a strong player in their field who has the potential to grow into an A-class technical leader.

Responsibilities:

• Web development which includes writing well-designed, testable, efficient code by using the best software development practices
• Ownership of code throughout the full development cycle
• Write unit tests for new and existing code.
• Work closely with other developers, Project Managers, and other members of the Product team to develop detailed specification documents with clear project deliverables and timelines using Agile methodology
• Proactively communicate with the Project Manager regarding any progress and/or delays to continually deliver assigned tasks in a timely and efficient manner
• Ongoing daily maintenance updates and additions from our current client base
• Determine appropriate architecture, and other technical solutions, and make relevant recommendations to clients
• Develop or implement procedures for ongoing website revision
• Analyse client needs to determine technical requirements
• Seeks opportunities to increase customer satisfaction and deepen client relationships
• Engage in outside-the-box thinking to provide high value-of-service to clients
• Track time for all tasks in our time tracking tool and log tasks in JIRA

• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or Information Technology or any computer related study (Master’s degree preferred)
• 3+ years professional experience as a full-stack web developer
• Adept at working with, optimizing and querying databases (Specifically MySQL)
• Has good knowledge and experience in Java, Javascript, ReactJS, ReduxSaga, MariaDB, MySQL, JVM and supporting tools
• Knowledgeable in Linux and Unix like systems
• Experience managing LAMP or LEMP stack
• Experience in Continuous Integration tools like Jenkins and Circle CI
• Experience in managing load-balanced servers in AWS or Azure
• Experience in RESTful API / SOAP API / JSON
• Fluent in ReactJs + ReduxSaga , MySQL and MariaDB
• Has experience in developing and maintaining mission critical software throughout its full development cycle
• Familiar with Web technologies, GIT, Webpack
• Experience coding, testing and documenting ReactJs – including all front end functionality and templates – and modules – using contributed modules and developing custom modules as needed
• Creating/Setting up boilerplate, for future project as initial base structure
• Has experience working in a fast-paced agile environment
