Citrix System Engineer  

Under general supervision, the Associate Citrix Engineer is responsible for installing, configuring, and maintaining hardware and operating systems of physical and virtual desktops in support of business requirements. Performs software installations and upgrades to operating systems and specific layered software packages. Creates/maintains desktop images. Conducts routine hardware and software audits of workstations to ensure compliance with established standards, policies, and configuration guidelines. Provide status reports, problem summaries, and project status to supervisor as required.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Perform Citrix system software and hardware upgrades and changes including planning and scheduling, testing, and coordination. 30% of work time.
• Monitor, measure, capacity plan and test current\new infrastructure products and services. 20% of work time.
• Research recommendations or solutions for upgrades, improvements and strategies to ensure a stable, available and protected technical infrastructure. 10% of work time.
• Consult with resources and industry experts to ensure the effectiveness and efficiencies technical infrastructure. 10% of work time.
• Develop and ensure deployment documentation such as design and environment specifications, user and technical manuals and process\methodology documentation. 10% of work time.
• Administer core area(s) of technical responsibility as assigned. 10% of work time.
• Identifies deficiencies of both technical issues and business processes, elevates risk to team lead and/or reporting management, and proposes innovative solutions to address issue. 10% of work time.

• Associate degree in Computer Science, Engineering or relevant field, bachelor degree preferred and three years experience in the field of Desktop Engineering required.
• Citrix Certified Associate – Virtualization is preferred.
• Microsoft MCP, MCSA, and/or MCSE certification is highly desired.
• ITIL experience is also highly desired.
• Extensive knowledge of and experience with application delivery, networking, mobility, virtualization and associated technologies.
• Previous experience including research, analysis, and implementation.
• Previous project management experience including research, analysis, and implementation is preferred.

Physical Demands:

• May be asked to lift up to 50 lbs.

Working Conditions and Environment:

• Incumbent works in a temperature controlled, office environment. Incumbent sits at a desk during regularly scheduled work hours; answers and makes telephone calls using a standard and cellular telephone; types on a standard keyboard; reads and comprehends information from a computer terminal and/or written resources. Incumbent is on call 24/7. may be required to work beyond normal business hours to meet internal and external customer requirements. Evening and weekend work may be required. Some overnight travel may be required.
