Ruby on Rails Developer

As part of our ongoing client commitment we provide maintenance sessions to ensure the proper running of the site or app for each project once the development phase has been completed. Currently we have 6 projects in maintenance phase and that number is expected to increase this year. At this stage we have a minimum of 1 day set aside for each project but we are looking to at least double the amount of time spent on each maintenance session in order for the client to get more value from each allocated session.

We are looking for a developer to join our team in Manila to work alongside the Developer in charge of delivery maintenance of our client projects.

• 1-3 years’ working experience with Ruby on Rails
• Strong written and verbal communication skills with team and client
  • Ability to communicate findings in a way the client/ team understands
  • Make recommendations
  • Write a comprehensive solution
  • Communicate effectively with the client and team both in Manila and Wellington
• Estimate the work to fit within the allocated maintenance session
  • If a piece of work becomes bigger then estimated, knowing when to pause, assess the work and recommend something to the client.
• Have a broad skill set in order to context switch when necessary
  • Some work can require investigation and further problem solving
  • Curious and always taking the opportunity to learn

  • Strong relationship skills

• Good experience with ruby on rails, jquery, github and mysql
