Data Operations Officer  

Overview:
The Data Operations Officer will focus on urgent deliverables associated with data and operational items mostly because these items are high impact (severity 1-2 issues) and with regulatory implications.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Reports to the Data Engineering, Management, and Operations Manager, and will be responsible for the following functions: support severity 1-3 issues that require adhoc data extraction; reconcile and investigate data gaps; evaluate data flows; test data analytics initiatives and data flow pipelines; and monitor and execute job schedules/runs
2. Documents any data quality issue and report them to the data governance manager
3. Supports QA in conducting UAT tests and impact assessment for data at the back-end whenever a new technology or release is made by IT Service Delivery
4. Performs data investigation and reconciliation across different systems, platforms, and databases
5. Apply performance tuning and script optimization to reduce computational load and improve run time
6. Collaborates with data engineers, data scientists, and business intelligence specialists in mapping out dependencies and dataflows
7. Documents and update data dictionary, ER diagrams, and database management tools as needed
8. Handles change requests regarding already implemented solutions
9. Notifies stakeholders in case there are issues encountered for data analytics solutions already in production
10. Investigates the root cause of data operation issues and provide recommendations on how to resolve and mitigate

• BS in Computer Science, Industrial/Management Engineering, Computer Engineering, Information Technology, or any related field
• 3-5 years experience in data operations, database management, testing, quality, and/or data governance
• Expertise in Database management (SQL, Hadoop, Hive, Ab Initio, NoSQL) and ETL
• Experienced in documentation and data quality tools
• Knowledgeable of Data Science Tools and Concepts (Python, R)
• Knowledgeable of Business Intelligence Tools (QlikSense, NPrinting)
• Stakeholder and project management
