Systems Engineer  

The Systems Engineer is responsible in the set-up, maintenance, repair and recommend upgrades of production equipment. To man the TOC and provide support to both internal (editors/audio engineers) and external clients in, but not limited to, the aspects of troubleshooting audio/video issues, preparation of raw camera footage for editing, handling of edited materials for approval, as well as replication of DCP drives for release to theaters.

Duties and Responsibilities

• File management: receive and log raw camera footage files from DIT or Adprom, transcode the said files as preparation for editing
• File management: backup files of finished projects
• Troubleshoot audio/video and computer problems
• Handling/routing of files of the movie/trailer/ or any other kind of picture being produced, whether final or not yet final, as copy for the film producers, musical scorer, subtitle provider, audio engineer, even on-air broadcast; ensures that the files are up to specification
• Replication of DCPs for theatrical release, receiving of same drives to be endorsed to Sys Ad for formatting
• Creating of user account for each new project
• Also double as Sys Ad when necessary: Access Firewall server/connect computers to network/computer security/virus removal
• Other special projects
  • preparing materials for project Legacy Titles; Conversion of DPX to QC, taking note of selected sequences, exporting the said sequences
  • Setup of editing or sound workstations for onsite editing/dubbing

Work Environment

• Office based TOC/ editing suites/sound studios
• Field Work: ELJ Building/shooting location

• Degree in ECE or IT
• Has knowledge in operating Audio/Video hardware, and troubleshooting
• Familiar with MS Office/MS Windows/Mac OS X/ Computer networking
• Working knowledge in electrical systems/repair of electronic equipment
