The Company Driver is tasked with the following: (1) to deliver items to customers on time; (2) to prepare, load and unload the items to be delivered to customers; (3) to operate and clean the assigned delivery vehicle used for the actual delivery of items.
As Stock Steward, his job is to handle a company's incoming and outgoing deliveries. He helps load and unload items from delivery trucks, move items to the appropriate storage area, prepare outgoing shipments, and check that orders are complete and not damaged.
Job Responsibilities
- Drives and operates the assigned delivery vehicle. Accomplishes Daily Vehicle Checklist.
- Properly and accurately checks the packaging and condition of stocks for delivery to customer.
- Counter checks the goods to be delivered against sales invoice and/or delivery receipts.
- Ensures that deliveries are according to schedule and are properly acknowledged and signed by duly authorized receiving representative of customer.
- Loads and unloads all items for pick-up and delivery with utmost care, together with the Delivery Helper.
- Ensures the utmost security of items loaded on delivery vehicle.
- Performs daily over all inspection of vehicle prior to usage.
- Performs daily cleaning and washing of assigned delivery vehicle.
- Ensures the strict observance of traffic regulations and practices, courtesy and defensive driving.
- Performs required periodic maintenance schedule of vehicle.
- Performs basic trouble shooting of vehicle when needed.
- Communicates with Warehouse Supervisor and Operations Manager on customer questions and/or issues; prepares driver notes as needed.
- Ensures accurate recoding and timely submission of Official Business Form.
- Duly reports any vehicular accident encountered and/or any acquired traffic violations.
- Responsible for the safekeeping and proper maintenance of tools, spare parts and accessories of the assigned delivery vehicle.
- Settles all petty cash advances and liquidations daily.
- Transmits delivery and other official company documents to head office.
- Transports to head office stocks to be picked-up by customers or for delivery by Sales personnel.
- Accomplish Preventive Maintenance Checklist of assigned delivery vehicle.
- Perform minor repair on assigned vehicle if capable and when necessary.
Minimum Qualifications
- Candidate must possess at least must possess High School or Vocational Diploma
- With at least 1-2 years of driving experience and knowledgeable in troubleshooting
- With driving skills and has a valid Professional Driver's License
- With satisfactory written and oral communication skills
- With good knowledge on delivery routes
- With customer service skills
- With the ability to read and interpret maps and directions signage
- With a basic knowledge of vehicle troubleshooting and maintenance
