SUMMARY OF ROLE
The Business Development Manager shall carry the long-term organizational strategic goals, build key customer relationships, identify business opportunities, negotiate and close business deals (individual or school size) and maintain extensive knowledge of current market conditions. The successful candidate is expected to represent the company in local pitches and client representations. To achieve this, he needs to have a strong command of account management, leadership, research and must be results-orientated. Along with the Management, he needs to find potential individual clients and partners, present to them and ultimately convert them into clients and continue to grow business in the future. As Business Development Manager he shall help manage existing clients and ensure they stay satisfied and positive.
JOB DESCRIPTION
- Identify and close clients/accounts by networking, cold calling, advertising or other means of generating interest from potential clients.
- Plan persuasive approaches and pitches that will convince potential clients to do business with Consis.
- Develop rapport with new clients, and set targets for sales and provide support that will continually improve the relationship.
- Grow and retain existing accounts by presenting new solutions and services to clients.
- Strategic planning is a key part of this job.
CLIENT RETENTION
- Present CONSIS products and services and enhance existing relationships.
- Plan approaches and pitches (Work with team to develop proposals that speaks to the client’s needs, concerns, and objectives)
- Work with Marketing Team in building the CONSIS brand.
BUSINESS DEVELOPMENT
- Attend industry functions, such as school events and conferences, and provide feedback and information on market and creative trends.
- Present to and consult with senior level management on business trends with a view to developing new services, products, and distribution channels.
- Identify opportunities for campaigns, services, and distribution channels that will lead to an increase in sales.
- Identify and develop the company’s unique selling propositions and differentiators Using knowledge of the market and competitors,
ACCOUNT MANAGEMENT
- Submit weekly progress reports and ensure data is accurate.
- Forecast sales targets and ensure they are met by the team.
- Track and record activity on accounts and help to close deals to meet these targets.
- Research and develop a thorough understanding of the company’s people and capabilities.
- Understand the company’s goal and purpose so that will continual to enhance the company’s performance.
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Education, Psychology, Marketing, Business Administration or any related course
- With at least 2 years' experience, preferably in the education industry
- Strong analytical and planning skills
- Good communication and presentation skills
- Excellent problem-solving skills
- Ability to work independently and produce results
- Network with international schools is a plus
