Project Engineer  

To be the entrance to the Ph Tool Shop, have the daily contact with the internal customers from other Sonion sites.

1. Main point of contact to internal customers

• Receive project and enquiries from Internal Customers
• Ensure that all relevant documentation is in place in form of Drawings, Diagrams, Technical Specifications and Calculations etc.
• Feed back to customer on priority , timeline, duration and changes in timeline
• Ensuring internal alignment for projects by providing project updates to internal stakeholders. (e.g. KAM, Management, Production etc.).
• 2. Plan and coordinate projects.
• Execution of projects according to Sonion’s Quality System (SBS) and Sonion’s Development Methodology (SDM).
• Coordinate with drawing department
• Monitor and control progress of projects to provide technical oversight and ensure that application of engineering principles is used.
• Prioritize the project according to other projects
• Plan and allocate resources (machines and people) together with Tool Shop Manager
• Follow up with R&D Program Managers on Project Plan and Business Case.

3. Execution.

• Ensure a proper planning and coordination of the tasks in the Tool Shop together with the Tool Shop Manager
• Ensure no delays from Tool designer department on drawings
• Ensure that the customers are aligned on Project Status in all aspects e.g. Specifications, Validation, Quality and timeline.
• During the project constantly review and adjust the priorities of the areas to execute the project according to plan, budget and requirement spec.
• Ensure that the projects are executed according to the agreed timeline, price and lives up to the requirement spec and Sonion Quality Standard.

4. Monitor the quality, lead-time and cost of the project.

5. Identify and come up with recommendations for changes in resources (machinery or peoples competence level) to optimize the Tool Manufacturing Process.

6. Interface to the rest of Sonion’s project organization.

7. Be able to transform the timelines given by Tool Shop Manager to real commitments to the customers.

8. Authority:

• Setting Priorities for progress and planning.
• Giving solicited and unsolicited advice to customers
• Identifying and taking action to avoid excess in budget and lead time.
• Making decisions to remove bottlenecks together with The Tool Shop Manager

• Candidate must possess a Professional License (Passed Board/Bar/Professional License Exam), Engineering (Mechanical), Engineering (Metal Fabrication/Tool & Die/Welding),
• At least a minimum 5 year(s) of relevant working experience in precision tool design and with the willingness to specialize molding tools for the hearing-aid component.
• Hands on type of Engineer and able to work independently and has good follow up process to ensure customer’s satisfaction and on time delivery of set goals and objectives

• Knowledge in the following:

  • Sonion Quality System and Policy (Sonion Business System – SBS).
  • Sonion Development Methodology (SDM)
  • General knowledge of project planning and execution of projects.
  • Detailed knowledge of the specifications and applications for relevant Sonion products.
  • General knowledge about tool manufacturing
  • Demonstrated use of best practice methodologies such as six sigma, SPC, and analysis tools
  • Experience of statistical methods and design, product and process validations

• Competencies:

  • Courses in Project Management or other relevant practical experience.
  • Lean Development Principles.
  • Presentation techniques.
  • Process and Production Methods.
  • Strong focus on Results.
  • Systematic approach.
  • A problem solving attitude.
  • Good communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Good at project management skills
