The Role: Senior Specialist, Financial Accounting
The Senior Specialist role will play a key role in supporting the monthly financial close and estimate process by aggregating required actual data, preparing and distributing reports, updating business forecasts and assisting Financial Analysis & Planning Managers with daily accounting and operational support. The Senior Specialist role will be joining and interacting with a global finance team.

The Location: Silver City 2 Building, Pasig City

The Team: S&P Dow Jones Indices (S&P DJI), the world’s largest provider of indices is seeking a Senior Specialist in Financial Accounting. S&P DJI indices are used as the basis of investment products and to benchmark portfolio performance. S&P DJI indices are the foundation of some of the world’s leading exchange traded derivatives, ETFs, structured products, OTC instruments, index funds in addition to being the benchmark for investment portfolios.

Responsibilities:
Monthly Financial Close

• Format monthly actual/estimate files (update TM1 parameters in excel files, save down new version, etc.)
• Run reports for Financial Analysis & Planning Managers to support review of current month expense activity (Ariba, Talent Bridge, Oracle, Other)
• Research and document expense transactions as requested by Financial Analysis & Planning Managers
• Update and maintain current supporting schedules for key department spend (third-party providers & agencies, software, memberships, etc.)
• Prepare monthly journal entries and applicable balance sheet reconciliations
• Update and distribute monthly results on behalf of Financial Analysis & Planning Managers
• Prepare other monthly reports as required

Accounting & Operational Support

• Assist in processing manual invoices
• Assist with account coding inquiries from SPDJI functions
• Assist SPDJI functions with basic invoice or procurement questions, and/or connecting these team members to a Corporate resource for resolution
• Assist in preparing Ariba requisitions
• Assist Financial Analysis & Planning Managers with vendor research

Estimate Process

• Key estimate updates into Anaplan/TM1 for SPDJI functions or natural class accounts as directed by Financial Analysis & Planning Managers

Basic Qualifications:

• Accounting or Finance degree required
• 3+ years of experience in accounting
• Very well organized and detail oriented
• Strong written and communication skills
• Ability to work independently and in a team environment
• Knowledge of Oracle or other similar financial system strongly preferred
• Knowledge of foreign currency transactions
• Highly proficiency with Excel required
• Must be flexible in shift schedule
