Graphic Designer  

• The IT Governance and Portfolio Management Unit (OIOD-GP) requires the services of a Graphic Designer to assist OIOD-GP of the Office of Information Systems and Technology (OIST) in conveying information appropriately for a variety of audiences.
• A resource with graphic design expertise is required to assist the project teams under OIST with their project documentation needs. He/She will ensure that effective, consistent, and accurate information is produced and delivered by OIST.
• The Graphic Designer will report to the IT Specialist (Portfolio Management) and Senior IT Officer (Portfolio Management) and/or designated OIST Staff and will be required to assist one or more project team/s supported by OIOD-GP.

The expected tasks to be performed by the Graphics Designer are, but not limited to, the following:

• Prepare infographics, announcements, banners, teasers, posters, templates, diagrams, icons, storyboards, training materials, audio-visual and other multimedia presentations relevant to the needs of the projects, in coordination with the project team and following the Handbook of Style and Usage
• Edit art-work, photos, charts, and other graphic elements of project documents and presentations
• Produce electronic, printed, and/or audiovisual materials for dissemination to project stakeholders. Coordinate with different groups for preparing the final layouts for printing and/or electronic publishing
• Help structure the content of project document repositories, sites, and war rooms
• Perform other tasks and ad hoc activities that may be assigned from time to time

The selected resource should have the following qualifications:

• University degree in Graphic Design, Multimedia, Visual Arts, or in the areas of IT and Communications, preferably with advanced training
• 3 to 5 years of relevant work experience in the field of graphic design/ layout/ publication is a must
• Preferably, with knowledge/understanding of IT concepts, processes, and products, with basic understanding of project management and IT delivery frameworks
• With advanced skills in using MS Office productivity tools such as: Word, PowerPoint, Excel and Visio
• Experience in graphics development and multimedia production/editing:
• Tools: Adobe Photoshop, Corel Draw or equivalent
• Video Editing/Conversion: Adobe Premiere, Final Cut or equivalent
• Video Streaming: Macromedia Flash Communication Server, Microsoft Media Technologies, or equivalent
• Preferably with experience in the use of Microsoft Sharepoint as communications platform
• Good understanding of new and evolving technologies and digital platforms.
• Ability to quickly comprehend instructions and translate them into artistic and graphical representations appropriate for the needs of the project and intended audience
• Can multi-task in a fast-paced and multi-cultural environment, while working collaboratively with internal and external stakeholders
• High degree of self-motivation and autonomy, but with the ability to work as part of a team
• Able to act clearly while working under pressure to meet strict deadlines
• Ability to skillfully and promptly deal with difficult situations related to the performance of his/her roles and responsibilities.
